Everton Program
Liverpool City was facing the problem of high suicide rates and to confront this problem the role of social responsibility in the sports field has been activated. Everton Club has studied and analysed the behaviour of Liverpool City residents. The study showed that 90% suicide bombers frequent a park in Liverpool City and to address the problem of suicide was agreed with the psychiatrist 22 and arranged to sit with those who show some behaviours that might lead to suicide, requiring psychological treatment at the club’s expense.
This program contributed to the 18-person estrangement from suicide and the Everton Club was awarded the European Union Award in 2016
